LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM
Learn to Swim Program
The Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park is proud to partner with the American Red Cross to provide curriculum and certified Water Safety Instructors.
Sessions every 2 months: January, March, May, July, September, and November annually. Progression through these classes will build water safety skills and teach swimming.
All levels are based on the participant’s age and skill. If you or your child is placed in the wrong level the instructor will let you know on the first day of class and recommend an alternative.
Cancellations:
All sales are final. No refunds will be issued for cancellations under any circumstances.
All cancellation requests must be made through the Program Director by calling 304-933-AQUA or emailing aqua@mylanpark.org and referencing “Request for class cancellation”. For these cancellations, an attempt will be made to transfer or change your child’s class, or partial credit will be awarded depending on the circumstances. Please provide the name of the student, class name, day and time, the reason for cancellation, and the best follow-up phone number.
Reschedules:
We are not able to provide make-up classes for any of our progressive-style classes. The class you sign up for is the class you must attend each week. Our classes have different instructors and each class develops at a different speed together so please only attend your scheduled program. Remember the more often you attend the better the progression within the class.
Waiting Lists:
When a class fills a waiting list will automatically be generated for the first 6 people. There is no charge to wait. We will contact you if a space becomes available. You may also contact us after the first refund deadline or after the first class meeting to see if a space has opened in your preferred course. Payment will be required at the time of joining the class. Prorated payments are available who join after the first class meeting. No registrations will be allowed after the 2nd class meeting.
Skip days:
Holidays or other planned days of the class are listed in the guide, as well as noted on the class schedule. These days off are planned and therefore are reflected in the pricing of the course so no refund is necessary. In the case that your class is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make an attempt to reschedule the session at the end of the course, if that is not possible because we begin our next session right away, we will provide a credit to your account towards a future session, visit pass, private lesson, birthday party or any other program or service we provide.
Pre Swim Classes
Levels 1 – 4
Pre-Swim classes that are part of the Lean to Swim program at Mylan Park. These classes are for toddlers ages 3 – 6 years. Children may have participated in a parent and child course previously but should still enter at Pre-Swim Level 1 if 3 years of age.
Children between the ages of 3.5 and 6 years old should enter Pre-Swim Level 1-3 depending on skill. Please make sure to register your child for the appropriate class based on the criteria below. Specific skill requirements are necessary to advance to the next level.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Private, Semi-Private, & Small Group Lessons
Private lessons are designed to help students who are having difficulty with specific skills in a group lesson or if they need a little more attention to move past a challenging skill.
In a private lesson, students will work one-on-one or two-on-one with a qualified instructor. Lessons are tailored to meet your individual needs, teach you how to swim, or refine your skills. Swimmers of all levels, ages, and abilities can sign up – it’s never too late to learn how to swim.
