Discovery Days at Mylan Park
Discovery Days at Mylan Park transform select Monongalia County school closure days into engaging, youth-focused experiences centered on wellness, growth, and connection.
Held only on designated calendar closure days (not snow days or early dismissals), Discovery Days provide families with a safe, structured place for children to spend the day surrounded by positive activities and supportive staff — instead of staying home alone.
Participants enjoy a balanced schedule that combines recreation with prevention and resilience-based programming. Throughout the day, kids stay active, build confidence, practice teamwork, and strengthen healthy decision-making skills in an encouraging environment.
Free meals and snacks are provided. If your child has dietary restrictions, please email discoverydays@mylanpark.org so we can ensure they remain comfortable, supported, and energized all day long.
By blending physical activity with evidence-based youth development strategies, Discovery Days help children grow socially and emotionally while giving parents peace of mind.
